Sorry for my long silence ....
We have been adopted by an iranian family in Bandar Abbas for the past week !
We met an incredible person who turned our Bandar Abbas nightmare into a dream ...
Last week at the police station, department Foreign Affairs, where absolutely nobody speaking a single word of english, we met Faisal Danesh who helped up to get my visa extension, then took us to the bank for the visa payment, to the photograph shop for the visa photo and for his home for lunch. We met his wife Afsane and his two sons Sina and Sam.
We spend the whole afternoon together and went out for dinner. Everywhere we go, everybody respectfully salutes Faisal, everybody knows him ! He is World Champion 1985 and Olympic Champion 1988 of Taekwondo, first "municipal counsellor" of the city of Bandar Abbas and he is also terminal manager at the port of Bandar Abbas.
We spent lots of lovely moments together, met the rest of the family, went to famous warm waters source, ...
For the past four days, Faisal spent most of his time going through all the administrative steps necessary to get the motorbike out of the port. You can just not imagine how hard it has been ! We needed stamps and signatures from tens of offices and departments from the police, the customs and different shipping agencies, all in Farsi of course ... I am definitely convinced we would never have managed without his help !
Which means that ...
WE GOT THE MOTORBIKE YESTERDAY !!!!!
A memorable day I tell you, when we take it out of the box and unwrap it ....
Little problem, the papers of the motorbike were lost during the administative process .... ooops .... So we are not sure we will be able to leave Iran yet ... :-) In Ch'Allah !
We are leaving tomorrow Thursday the 25th morning towards of Yazd ...
News in a few days !

Hi Alex, what an amazing journey you are about to undertake. I'll definitely keep tabs on you and may even try to work on my French. Thanks for your note on my blog. I am happy with my decision and for all the great experiences I have had in Africa. I'll be returning to Canada in a few weeks but hopefully I can find myself another adventure or two before returning to my old life.
